Kubikukuri Takuzo is a performance artist who's been hanging himself by the neck in his backyard for more than 15 years. The way he puts it, it allows him to "distance himself from the fatigue of life". He explains, "Today is like a great gift for me. It makes the rest of my day very light." Some believe this is his way of expressing his appreciation for life, and the years he has left.

100 million yen Bonsai Pine Tree

A Bonsai (potted plant) pine of 100 million yen was sold in the "Asia-Pacific Bonsai Convention" in Takamatsu. It was attached with "sold" card, and many guests take photos of the tree.

The contractor is from Hanyu-shi, Saitama. The presumed age of the tree is 300 years, and height is 105 cm. It is called "the Bonsai of the ideal" (the contractor) which combines the thick trunk which surges, and the delicate shape of the branches.
