Gokudo Ep.2: Yakuza Showbiz

Media Works, the film production company founded by Hoyu Yamamoto, specializes in producing Yakuza movies, almost all of which are based on true events. They produce dozens of movies a year, making up 80% of all Yakuza films put out each year. Unfortunately for them, the Gang Expulsion Laws were passed 2 years ago in an effort to prevent Japanese entities from working with the Yakuza, thus putting Media Works in a difficult position as they rely highly on authentic Yakuza stories. Kunihiko Shinoda, chief editor of the magazine Document faces similar challenges. We decided to go out and find out how they deal with their new circumstances.

Caroline Kennedy insults Japanese culture

President Barack Obama appointed Democrat Caroline Kennedy (President Kennedy's daughter) as United States ambassador to Japan. The people in Japan were happy and felt honored to have as a U.S. ambassador a person as Ms. Kennedy coming from a notable family.

During this Japanese jubilation I warned the good people to be weary of this Democrat Caroline Kennedy as Democrats cannot be trusted. Proving me correct Ambassador Kennedy in being culturally insensitive Tweeted the following in reference to the dolphin activity in Taiji, Japan:

"Deeply concerned by inhumaneness of drive hunt dolphin killing," she said. The U.S. government "opposes drive hunt fisheries."

In that Tweet the Ambassador delighted the save-the-dolphin drones, the cowards of Sea Shepherd's Cove Guardians, and Japan bashers, while at the same time insulting the people of Japan. She is one pathetic Democrat and an embarrassment to the USA. The only good thing about her being ambassador to Japan is she is not in the United States.

A Day With Hatsune Miku Fan

We spent our day with a huge Hatsune Miku fan who goes by the Twitter name Gonta. Hatsune Miku is a digital pop singer who first appeared in the summer of 2007, and since then she's created a massive following of die-hard fans. Gonta happens to be one of them, so we spent our day interviewing him as he took photos of his figurines and walked around the mecca of 'otaku' culture, Akihabara.

High-Class Hostess in Ginza

Hostess clubs, or "kyabakura" in Japan are a type of bar where guys go to drink and sit with pretty girls for a fee. Hostesses light cigarettes, pour drinks, and offer flirtatious conversation to entertain their customers. The prices range from reasonable to outrageous sums of money depending on where you go. We followed Kanae Murakami, a 20-year-old hostess who works in the upscale Ginza district of Tokyo.

Host and hostess clubs - Wikipedia

Hostess clubs are a common feature in the night-time entertainment industry of Japan, East Asian countries and other areas with a high Japanese population. They employ primarily female staff and cater to males seeking drinks and attentive conversation. The more recent host clubs are similar establishments where primarily male staff cater to females. Host and hostess clubs are considered part of mizu shobai or "water trade" in Japan.
